Polycom MGC+ 50 / 100 ReadiConvene

Polycom's MGC+50 and MGC+100 ReadiConvene unified conferencing bridges support IP/SIP, ISDN and PSTN conferencing – including both multipoint and gateway calls – plus the option for a completely integrated suite of scheduling and management applications – all on a single platform.

The first scalable High Definition (HD) MCU on the market, the MGC+ ReadiConvene bridges support standards-based HD 720p, offering up to ninety 2 Mbps ports on a single chassis. These MGC+ bridges offer premier quality audio and video conferencing, and support the Polycom SoundStation VTX1000® high fidelity wideband conference phone and Polycom’s HDX 9000 series HD video endpoints.

Organizations can conduct both scheduled and on-demand conferencing simultaneously on the same platform, and as on-demand video increases, the MGC+ ReadiConvene unified conferencing bridge can provide an easy transition, when used with MGC+ Meeting Rooms and Entry Queues.

High Definition is the newest set of standards for high quality video conferencing. High Definition standards have been defined by the ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) as picture resolutions of 720p and 1080i/1080p. High Definition has a refresh rate of 24,25,30,50, 60 frames per second and a resolution image of 1280x720 pixels or 1920x1080 pixels. The higher number of pixels translates into sharper and clearer pictures. The higher refresh rate results in less flickering to the human eye. High Definition uses the progressive scan format rather than interlacing, treating the entire video image as one frame and does not suffer from jagged edges in the picture.
